Emerald New York together with A.C. Milan has launched a new summer program combining the Emerald English learning experience with the chance to play soccer working closely with professional coaches for the world famous Italian soccer club. Students sit for ESL classes by the qualified and certified teachers and meet use the Wagner College sports facilities for training in the afternoons.

All participants will receive A.C. Milan official sports kits as well as official diplomas from both Emerald NY and A.C. Milan upon completion of the program.

 

English Lessons and Soccer Practice

This course covers the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing and is focused on helping students to communicate effectively in spoken and written English. The textbooks, work methodology and supplementary material are innovative and designed to suit the students’ needs and expectations. Classes are given by fully qualified and experienced teachers using the most up-to-date and approved teaching methods.

Professional A.C. Milan coaches will provide world-class training in the afternoons to motivated young players who wish to improve their skills and their technical and tactical knowledge of the game. Soccer matches will take place on Saturday mornings.

English Class Hours:
3 Hours per Day / 15 Hours per Week

Soccer Camp Hours:
2pm - 4pm / Monday - Friday

 

Social and Cultural Activities

AC Milan Soccer Camp at Emerald NY includes afternoon activities after soccer practice. These include visits to NYC’s most famous attractions: The Empire State Building, Trump Tower, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Times Square as well as museums such as the Metropolitan, Natural History and MoMa, and can also include unique experiences of cultural interest such as visits to recording studios, business offices and firehouses.

During the afternoons spent on campus, the students/soccer players will get the chance to enjoy the other wonderful sports facilities offered by Wagner College such as the baseball field, the American football field, the basketball courts, and the indoor swimming pool. All these activities will be organized and directed by the Emerald Staff.

During the evenings spent on campus, Emerald will offer different presentations or concerts, of a variety of sorts, for example: live Jazz and Blues concerts, presentations on New York City History, on TV Commercials, or even other kinds of events such as sing-alongs, American movie showings, or even a night to dance.
Weekends, aside from game time on Saturday mornings, are spent on day trips discovering more of NYC in its five Boroughs.

Optional extended 1-day trips to places outside of the city such as: Philadelphia, Upstate New York (Hudson River), or the Woodbury Commons Outlet are available for an additional cost.

 

Housing and Meals

The students will spend their nights at Wagner College inside the dorms. There are several dorm buildings around campus and the students will be assigned to a double room. These rooms are very simply furnished, with 2 beds, a desk, chairs, a dresser and shared bathrooms. Dorms are supervised overnight by Emerald employees as well as Wagner security.

Wagner College has a wonderful cafeteria, a beautiful, ample and luminous building serving food way above American standards. The all-you- can-eat buffet offers: pasta/rice, main courses, sides;"trattoria": pizzas and special pastas, vegetables, extensive choice of fresh fruit, assorted desserts from pie to ice cream, and unlimited drinks: soda, juice, water, coffee etc. 

 

Enrollment Age

The Emerald NY AC Milan Soccer Camp is open to students from 12 to 17 years old. 

 

For youth interested in soccer training only, there is the option of enrolling in the AC Milan Soccer Camp.
